Todays ramblings
Good Morning.
Hopefully this weekend I can get the
decorating finished.
I was wondering why I continue to show the (*)
selections as part of the Greyhound Selections?
They are not doing
anyone any good and certainly reflect bad on the system as a whole, especially
when you get days like yesterday where 3 out of 4 lost.
Well at least I
am giving you a choice and although at one time they did look like they could
be worth laying on their own, I think those days have come and gone.
I
started up some tests again yesterday and I thought with my little speech I
should practice what I preach, so I decided I am going to stop as soon as I am
in profiton with each system.

I
didn't do any USA racing because a meeting I was in over run and I missed
setting up the grey horse bot for the first race, which I think is
important.
I actually set the profit on each bot to £1.00 but 50p
would have done although we have to think a little bit about betfairs
commission, which is about 10p on a £2.00 bet.
There are dangers
of running multiple strategies as above especially on one bank. If all of them
start losing at the same time you have to make sure that you have enough funds
to cover. In an ideal world you would have a bank for each system, but that is
not always possible especially if you have limited funds to play
with.
In this case you would probably be better off starting with just
one system and then when you have built up a reasonable bank then add a
second.
I mentioned a little while ago that I had been talking to a
tipster who goes by the name of the "Dutchman" and I was pretty impressed with
his lay selections especially his "Stop at a winner", which really is working
well.
Anyway I have finally got the go ahead to start offering you a
sample once a week. The problem is that they do not publish the selection until
about midday, so I still need to work out the best way of getting them ready
for you.

8. Greyhound Selections- Lay System
started 07/11/2006.
After playing around with selections I have
decided that for the time being this is going to be a lay only test. I think I
have worked out a system that will give us quite good prices but I suspect
there will have to be a maximum lay price set. I am just not sure what that
will be but I am testing between 2.00 and 7.00. I will make every effort to
record betfair lay prices as well. The ones marked with an asterisks (*)
are from the original and tighter system, I am not using these
now.
You can see all the results since the 14th (when I introduced
the latest selection method)
here. I am now using what I call the "rule of 3", this means
we go for 3 wins and use a 3 race scratch back to get back any
losses.
