Todays ramblings Good Morning.
I am still getting over a cold
so I will probably take it easy this weekend and put my feet up, although I
think my wife will have other ideas! Darren From Betting School. http://www.laybetting.com/go_bet-school.htm
As many
readers know I started out my betting career betting on the greyhounds. My
father was a professional greyhound trainer and I had a good insight into
trainer's methods and what a fit dog looks like. I used to spend
three nights per week at the local dog track and all my days sitting in a
bookies shop. Of course when you are in the bookies the look of the dog isn't
so useful as you only get a cursory glance at the dogs on parade. So you need
to focus on other factors. My specialty was tracks where the leading
dog held a big advantage. Obviously the dog that leads around the first bend
holds a big advantage although a win is not a foregone conclusion because a lot
of dogs with early pace can't make the full four bend distance. They
are sprinters and get burnt out and fade before the win line and the grader
loves to trick punters with a dog that looks like a trap to line winner.
However when you find one that will lead and that has the stamina to hold
on for the win then you are onto some easy money. In the old days I
used to plot out on graph paper the likely position of each dog at the first
bend, (nowadays you can use the
Bags Beater software
http://www.horseracingsystemsuk.com/go_bagsbeater.htm and
it used to take me hours to find one or two bets per day. I don't
tend to bet the dogs anymore, mainly because of the late pricing and low
liquidity of the markets but it is a great way to start out for low stake
bettors. Anyway the point of all my rambling is that if greyhounds
are your thing then you can find the Betting School guide to picking winning
greyhounds in the club members area. Darren Power is the Editor of

Lay/Back System Test
("Started 23/07/2008")
There are two types of
selections here. The first is a lay tip as long as the price is under 2.00 and
the second is a back tip as long as the price is 2.00 or above.
There is one thing to think
about here. If a lay selection goes to 2.00 or above you could decide to back
it instead and the same goes for a back selection dropping below 2.00 you could
then lay this. It's probably best to back/lay these near to the "off". We are
not using a staking plan at the moment, just level stakes to see what
happens.
The session file is set as lay,
odds between 1.03 and 1.99 and 1.00 stake, and back odds 2.00 to 5.00, 1.00
stake but you should use your own option settings.
I will also upload a spreadsheet
once a week with the latest results here. http://www.greyhorsebot.co.uk/lay-back-results.xls

Guest Selection ("Good to
Lay" ) started 27/08/2008 There is only one rule: If the NR
reduction factor is 10% or more (check the "Rules" tab to the left of the
market) on the market then it is a "No bet". Because of this, it is obviously
better to bet nearer the off.

Back test system ( "A 'back'
system that I came up with a while ago")
This system is available
as part of The Pro Betting Systems e-book. http://www.horseracingsystemsuk.com/go_pbs.htm
As a new idea I am going to
start a more aggressive staking plan trial and stick more closely to the
CashMaster idea.
Please Note: This is a trial.
Please do not attempt to run a staking plan unless you understand exactly what
you are getting yourself into.
New Trial Started 21/07/2008.
Start Bank £500.00 Bank Now: £0.00 We will use 5% of our
current bank as our base stake (divided by the odds we get) and we will use the
CashMaster system to get back loses except when the selections price at betfair
is under 2.00. All winnings will be calculated -5% betfair charge. If a runner
is under 2.00 and we are recovering loses then we prospone the staking plan and
stake the whole 5% stake.
