Todays ramblings
Good Morning.
We started adding some new features to GHB yesterday. We
have opened up some new markets including Cricket, Snooker and
Tennis.
We are also working on improving the trade out features so now
you can green up or put all the profit on your selection, so if that selection
wins you make money but if any other selection wins then you don't win or
lose.
The working out for this is quite easy. Let us start with a back
bet on our selection.
Price 2.10 stake 2.00 = (2.10 -1) x 2.00 = 2.20 if
our selection wins.
So we manage to get a trade at 1.95 (we have backed
first so we lay, if the price goes down) and all we do is put the same stake on
the selection.
(1.95-1) X 2.00 = 1.90 (our liability).
So if our
selection wins we make 2.20 - 1.90 = 0.30 (minus commission) but if our
selection losers we would make 2.00 on the lay but lose 2.00 on the back so
make nothing. Remember that betfair charge commission on the profit on a market
not individual bets.
You may want to use this type of trading on a
selection that you feel has a good chance of winning (or losing if laying) but
you don't mind taking a trade if the opportunity arrises.
Although I
don't use this type of trade often myself, it can be useful especially if I am
not totally convinced about my selection.

Profit". I am going to keep the maximum odds set to 6.00 and I am going to be a
little naughty and add in a lay ladder staking plan.
