Todays ramblings Good Morning.
Sometimes you come across
tipsters or systems that you know seem to be doing well but you are not sure if
it will appeal to your readers.
BetSafeSolutions tipping
service/system is one that I think falls into this category but certain changes
are making it more attractive.
I am afraid this is quite a long review
and needs some explaining so I am going to do it over several days so I can be
as balanced as possible.
I asked Gordon last month if he would try it
out for me as I would not have time myself. This is what he came up with after
a week. Please note, that this is a slightly edited review because I had to
take out parts where Gordon gave information about the method and where I felt
the author, had explained and/or fixed the complaint Gordon had mentioned.
"I played the system from Monday 28th July to Friday 1st August
inclusive, although I had to go out on the Wednesday and Thursday evenings.
Lets start with the workbooks etc first.
At first sight they
are extremely daunting for a novice like me, and a lay down in a dark room with
a wet cloth on the brow is the order of the day! Fortunately Smart Money Racing
offer the workbooks on a daily basis with the races and selections already
entered, I found these very useful indeed, and I worked with these, I would say
the £15 per month for the daily workbooks is good value, as it saves a
lot of time, something operating this system consumes in vast amounts! I also
used the workbook settings as recommended by the author.
Another
excellent aid was the race schedule sheet, which gave minute by minute
instructions of what you should doing, although there was the odd mistake in
those it certainly made life a lot earlier.
Operating the workbooks
although simple in theory, in practise can be quite difficult.
Imagine
this scenario during my test period.
There were 11 selections in the
one race. Not a problem at the 15min stage. However when the 2min point arrives
all hell breaks loose! You are operating with split screens, with the workbook
and Betfair both open, either that or you have to keep jumping between the two.
So first you have to enter the prices for the 11 selections, then you could
have up to 3 recommended bets in the race, you could also have more than one
bet of a certain type recommended in the race, if that is the case you then
have to look to see which one you are going to use, as suggested by the
authors.
Then all the current odds for the selections being bet on
have to be entered, this involves having to enlarge screens as on a split
screen you cannot access the boxes you need, and also jumping between win and
place markets on Betfair. When the odds are entered the suggested stake is
automatically calculated, then it is off to Betfair again, to place the bets,
again jumping between win and place markets. I did not actually place any bets,
just paper traded, but I have serious concerns as to whether it is actually
possible to get your bets on in the time available.
I have a couple of
criticisms regards the workbook. When using multiple workbooks, which is
normally everyday with evening racing, there is no facility to adjust current
bank and profit/loss figure when you move to a new workbook, so you have to
manually check to see if you have reached your profit/loss target for the
day. A couple of things that would make life a bit easier are, instead of
suggesting more than one bet of the same type, normally place back, the
workbook should do the calculations and only suggest the one selection. It
would also be very useful if when a bet is found, if the workbook automatically
entered the 2min odds to get the suggested stake. The chance of actually
getting the odds you manually enter are slim, so I don't see a problem with
using the 2min odds instead.
Overall I would say the system is well
thought out and put together, the workbooks are very comprehensive, possibly
over engineered for the purpose I was using them for, but I believe there are
other options as well, trading for instance. The option to have the workbooks
sent daily is very good.
The workbooks could, I believe, be improved,
and there is a doubt as to whether you could actually do all that needs to be
done within the 2 mins in certain circumstances.
Smart Money Racing is
more scientific, selecting certain types of races, and also place backing,
which I have not come across before.
So in summing up I would say
Smart Money Racing is certainly not for me, based purely on the amount of time
spent sitting in front of the computer each day, after just 5 days my wife was
beginning to make some very nasty threats indeed!
Cheers,
Gordon"
Thank-you Gordon as always your input was appreciated.
Tomorrow I will take up some of Gordon's points and show you how the author has
made a great deal of effort to improve on many of the points Gordon has raised.
You can find out more about the system here but can I ask you to
mention my name if you decide to email the author or purchase.

Layback
Racing Lays The Lay system is slightly more involved than the Backs.
Basically we will issue all the selections that our system generates in the
morning. The system is basically a stop at a winner and we are targeting 1
point per each day of selections.
For example, you Lay the first
selection. If it a positive result for us i.e. it losses, then that is it for
the day. Should the horse win i.e. lose for us, then you put the total loss +
your target required onto the next selection. This is carried on until a
positive result is achieved. When this horse comes in for us you have made your
target and thats it.
We would recommend that you only roll this over
for no more than 4 horses, as with Laying, the stake becomes too large very
quickly. In our tests we have only reached the 4th Horse three in 8 months,
which is pretty awesome really.
The only anomaly with the above is when
the loss is carried over to the following day. In this case we must add 2
points to the target, because we are still trying to recover the previous days
point as well as the present day. --------------------------
Layback Racing Lay are:- 1420 Folkstone Fast Freddie 1720 Folkstone
Celt
Layback Racing Backs are as follows:- 1410 Sedgefield Colorado
Blue BF 2.36 1440 Sedgefiled Ellerslie Tom BF 2.66 1500 Beverley
Pondapie BF 3.65 1540 Sedgefield Mutual Respect BF 2.68 1600 Beverley
Hunterview BF 2.1
Guest Selection ("Good to
Lay" ) started 27/08/2008 There is only one rule: If the NR
reduction factor is 10% or more (check the "Rules" tab to the left of the
market) on the market then it is a "No bet". Because of this, it is obviously
better to bet nearer the off.
