Todays ramblings
Good Morning.
I had a play with backing the favourites on the (place)
markets yesterday using GHB. I was down on the day and had some interesting results
on the USA (place) markets so I am going to have a go at laying them tonight.
Luckily GHB can do
this automatically and I don't have to stay awake to watch!
I was
surprised to find how many times the favourite didn't even place, but with just
one nights data it is hard to tell if this is normal.
Just so you know I
have GHB set in Auto
mode and to bet on 8 runner or less markets where there is a 3 (place) market,
don't forget that Betfair will still pay out to 3 places even if there is a NR.
I start GHB
monitoring the races 60 seconds before the advertised off.
The good
thing is that this type of testing is easy with
GHB and at least it
gives you a start for and idea that you can then go on to improve.
I had
a quick chat with Paul Fowlie (Lay
Place System) yesterday. He has been testing GHB and said that he really
likes using it and it's saving him a lot of time. I know there are a lot of
people now using GHB with his Lay Place System and I am at the moment looking
at some of his other systems as well to see if they can be used with
GHB.
I will get a list together before long of all the systems we know
will work with GHB because there are plenty now.

Lay/Back System Test
("Started 23/07/2008")
There are two types of
selections here. The first is a lay tip as long as the price is under 2.00 and
the second is a back tip as long as the price is 2.00 or above.
There is one thing to think
about here. If a lay selection goes to 2.00 or above you could decide to back
it instead and the same goes for a back selection dropping below 2.00 you could
then lay this. It's probably best to back/lay these near to the "off". We are
not using a staking plan at the moment, just level stakes to see what
happens.

The session file is set as lay,
odds between 1.03 and 1.99 and 1.00 stake, and back odds 2.00 to 5.00, 1.00
stake but you should use your own option settings.

Here is a new lay system I thought you may like to look at

look quite promissing.
I think they could do with a cap on the maximum price
but that would probably have to be a personal thing.

decided to do some more work on this system and will try again in a week or so
to see if he can improve the strike rate.

stake the whole 5% stake.
