Todays ramblings
Good Morning.
Yesterday was typical the moment I say we have updated a
selection then it goes and losses which was the case with the Millionaire's
Row(9) nap.
We still think this is just going through a little bit of a
bad patch but will pick up.
Because Betfair was down until 1pm yesterday
I didn't run the Greyhound system or the RSA.
I did run the place lay
system though.

As
I said I stopped as soon as I had a stakes worth of profit which is the way I
think we need to go.
I missed the US market (don't ask) but I will pick
it up again today.
I have had quite a few emails about these test I have
been carrying out because for many people they seem quite silly (not actually
the word I am looking for but I think you will know what I mean) because
firstly trying to win at level stakes is pretty difficult to do and most
peoples research shows that it isn't possible.
The point I am trying to
show here is that with software like the
Grey Horse bot we
can adapt our betting patterns and try out ideas that in many cases would be
very difficult and time consuming for a human to do to.
For instance you
could set the Grey Horse bot up to bet on every favourite between the price of
1.5 and 1.6 and go off and let the bot get on with it. Where as if you are a
human you would have to sit all day at your computer with your finger on the
keyboard waiting to see if a favourite does reach that price.
What's
more is with the Grey Horse bot you could tell it only to bet 20 seconds before
the off as well.
Remember most statistics with horse racing are based on
expected SP or SP after the event, not 30 seconds before the race starts. I am
not saying you can beat statistics (honestly Howard) I am just saying that with
a tool like the Grey Horse bot, it does open a number of possibilities that
would not be readily available to most people who can not sit at their
computers all day.
So my test are first to look at opening the door to
ideas, then to concentrate on certain information that we have had from the
results, to narrow down possible winning strategies.

8. Greyhound Selections- Lay System
started 07/11/2006.
After playing around with selections I have
decided that for the time being this is going to be a lay only test. I think I
have worked out a system that will give us quite good prices but I suspect
there will have to be a maximum lay price set. I am just not sure what that
will be but I am testing between 2.00 and 7.00. I will make every effort to
record betfair lay prices as well. The ones marked with an asterisks (*)
are from the original and tighter system, I am not using these
now.
You can see all the results since the 14th (when I introduced
the latest selection method)
here. I am now using what I call the "rule of 3", this means
we go for 3 wins and use a 3 race scratch back to get back any
losses.
