Todays ramblings
Good Morning.
I think because we are getting close to Christmas and I
want to wind down I am in a bit of a playful mood. I came up with an idea for a
new stop at a winner lay system.
I am not sure what sort of a staking
plan to use yet or maximum odds I just want to see how it goes. It is again
based on the RP naps table but I have some ideas for other filters, but lets
just see what happens.
As always it is a test so no live
betting.

There's nothing better than a big winner at the Kempton
Christmas meeting so with only a week to go I want to give you some pointers
that will hopefully help you to find a winner of the Christmas Hurdle.
Our resident big race trends expert, Ricky Taylor, has an excellent record in
the Christmas Hurdle and has put together a profile of the likely winner. I
don't have the space here to give the full scoring system which he has devised
but I can tell you what to look out for.
First off any horse that has
placed previously in the race will be a strong contender. In the last eight
years every horse that has placed previously has gone on to place again, so
this is a big factor.
Secondly look for a horse that has run well
recently and been placing in its last few starts and look for a horse that has
never unseated its rider or fallen before. Kempton is a tricky course and this
and the first rule identifies the type of horse that will make it safely home.
Other minor pointers that will help identify a good selection are age,
five or older, rated highly by the Racing Post and a previous placing at the
Cheltenham Festival.
