Here is your FREE tip for today.
"Cold Turkey" was a winner yesterday at 6/5.
All weather racing
November is a funny month in the racing calendar, not only do we go
from the flat to the national hunt season but the AW comes on line as
well, no wonder some pro gamblers just sit this month out!
Horse racing has a tendency to make normally sane people make
decisions, that to a qualified watcher would constitute a trip to the
funny farm and punters who move over to AW fit this bill pretty well,
they at least have the bookies on their side!
All Weather racing began in 1989, in the UK we have 3 AW sand tracks
Southwell, Wolverhampton and lingfield, all 3 tracks are just about
oval in shape.
A casual thought would probably lead you to the conclusion that
although the surface is different, good form shown on firm flat grass
should easily transfer to the AW surface.
But as many a punter has found out, this is not the case and the
unwary can easily come unstuck while trying to pick a winner from
grass form alone.
The rule of AW betting is to ignore any form that is not taken from
the same surface, I am not suggesting that a horse that has done well
on grass will not do well on sand (although it does happen), but
rather it is quite obvious from studying that it will take a couple
of races to make the transition.
Another thing to do is look back on last years AW form, many tipsters
ignore results back that far, but a horse that had good form last
seasons on AW but suffered on the grass, could be back in the running
again.
Lets test this theory today…
12.00 Southwell, Dubai Dreams Betting Forecast is 9/1
Please note this is not one of my normal “Ones to Watch” but I have
picked it because it could highlight my points above.
Now I don’t think that Dubai Dream will win this race I am pretty sure
the favourite Shatin Hero, who has already proved that he can run on
this surface will probably take the honours.
I am not convinced that Dangerous Beans has the experience to beat
Dubai Dreams on this surface, even though he has run well in his last
2 races at Brighton, he has not proven himself on AW.
Dubai Dreams on the other hand has good AW form especially at Southwell
and I think will be relishing the thought of racing this surface again.
Although he has had a bad showing on grass all this year, I still think
he is capable of a place and so would recommend an Each-way bet
especially if you get 9/1!
Please don’t go mad because as I have had already said this is not one
of my normal “Ones to watch” it’s just an example for today.
Do you agree?
Have a good days racing.
