Todays ramblings
Good Morning.
I finally started
decorating and then remembered how much I hate it...lol.
Betfair are
down this morning for more planned updates, although I didn't get an email
about this one, so I couldn't warn everyone in time.
We ran some
interesting test last week and one of the most successful was on the African
races (RSA) where we set the Grey Horse bot to lay all Favourites (in Auto
Mode) between 1.00 and 4.00, 60 seconds before the off.

We
have some more test to do but stopping after 1 to 3 wins seems to do the
trick.
We were also testing backing in 3 place races, I think we need to
rethink this, look at Thursday's results.

I
am leaning more towards laying and I must admit although I am not sure what we
should do here, as far as using a staking plan goes. My feelings say we should
take a "stop at profit" stance.
So today I am going to lay between 2.00
and 3.00 but stop as soon as I am in profit.
The real disaster last week
was (US) racing. We were laying most nights but because of mixed results, I
decided to switch to backing on Friday. Here is what happened.

Not
a pretty site. If I had of kept to laying it would have been a very profitable
evening!
So back to lays tonight, to see if we can get some
back.
Me and my friend were looking at the Millionaire's Row (9)
selections last week and although we think the "Daily Double" has been doing
very well, we have been a little bit disappointed with the "Daily Nap". Now we
have more results to work with we have gone back over the system and think we
have found a couple of things that will improve it. So we are hoping the
results will improve a bit although you can not do anything about a horse
falling!
We have also made some changes to the lay selection because
this is certainly not working as we planned.

8. Greyhound Selections- Lay System
started 07/11/2006.
After playing around with selections I have
decided that for the time being this is going to be a lay only test. I think I
have worked out a system that will give us quite good prices but I suspect
there will have to be a maximum lay price set. I am just not sure what that
will be but I am testing between 2.00 and 7.00. I will make every effort to
record betfair lay prices as well. The ones marked with an asterisks (*)
are from the original and tighter system, I am not using these
now.
You can see all the results since the 14th (when I introduced
the latest selection method)
here. I am now using what I call the "rule of 3", this means
we go for 3 wins and use a 3 race scratch back to get back any
losses.
