Todays ramblings
Good Morning.
Don't you just hate the smell of paint? It seems to
seep into everything for a while. I have been taking about the
Grey Horse bot on
and off for the last few weeks and the new trading option we have added so I
thought I would mention them again especially as we have also been talking
about Football Revolution which is also basically a trading
system. Yesterday during testing I played around with some settings
before the days racing and got this.
http://www.laybetting.com/trading-16-4.JPG
Yeah I know it wasn't a lot of money but I was quite impressed with 7 out
7 automated trades, totally hands off. I set the
Grey Horse bot up to
bet on favourites between a certain price range and then to trade out at just 5
small ticks. I am going to try that one again today. There are lots of
ways you can trade but I tend to break them down in to 3 main groups.
1. Pure trading. This is where you watch an event and trade based on prices,
volume and many other factors. 2. Risk Trading. This where based on a
system or idea you back or lay on a market hoping that it will move your way to
allow you to trade out and "green light" for profit. 3. Incidental or
opportunity trading. This is where you may have made a bet and then you see the
price move in your favour and so trade out some or all of your originally bet
to lock in profit or lessen your exposure. Number 1 is probably the
most difficult to learn and certainly needs for you to invest a lot of time in
the fundamentals that you will need to learn to become successful. When ever I
get chance I do try to increase my knowledge of this type of trading but at the
moment my focus is in areas 2 and 3. I suspect most of the people
reading this email will make most of their trades from 2 and 3, I know I do.
The auto trading I did yesterday was from 2 because the bot placed a lay
bet and then waited until it could trade out on the back side. If it hadn't of
been able to then my winnings or losses would have be down to the outcome of
the race. When you are trading from 2 then I think that you have
to be more conservative with how much you can take, where as if you have are
trading from 1 or 3 you can probably look to lock in more profit. The
latest version of the Grey Horse bot will certainly let you trade from 2 or 3, but
1. needs a specialist bot like. This is one of the longer beta test we
have had but the trading part of V1.0.2.2 has needed a lot of testing. I will
be very pleased once it out on general release though because we are waiting to
add another quite substantial upgrade to the bot, in the next version.
We are attempting to open the Grey Horse Bot up to many of the football markets
as well, which should allow us to trade using many of the popular systems
mostly automated.. So as you can imagine I am quite excited about this
but we want to make sure V1.0.2.2 is working as it should, before we start on
that upgrade. 2. Guest Selection - started 23-10-2006

8. Greyhound Selections- Lay
System started 07/11/2006. After playing around with selections I
have decided that for the time being this is going to be a lay only test. I
think I have worked out a system that will give us quite good prices but I
suspect there will have to be a maximum lay price set. I am just not sure what
that will be but I am testing between 2.00 and 7.00. I will make every effort
to record betfair lay prices as well. The ones marked with an asterisks
(*) are from the original and tighter system, I am not using these
now. Udate. I am now stopping at the first winner and changing my
stop loss to £16.00 although I think this may be to high and we should
also stop at the first loser and call it a day. Only time will tell.

Today Millionaire Daily Lay We are not happy with this System so
are stopping it until improvements can be made. Millionaire Double
Take: 40pts Win /60pts Lay 2nd Favourite No Qualifyer today. Back:
Lay: The idea is to to back the favourite and lay
the second best priced horse before the off. We are hoping that most of the
time the lay should not change but if it does then it is always the best priced
horse (lay side) after the favourite. Our stake will be £10 split
4.00 on the back and 6.00 on the lay. Of course you could do this how you want
but we suggest you put slightly more on the lay to cover any loses on the back
bet because we feel the lay will lose far less often.
