Todays ramblings
Good Morning.
I have to admit apart
from working for a few hours Saturday and doing a couple of odd jobs around the
house I was pretty lazy this weekend!
Some weekends you just have to
rest.

Last week we talked about protecting your bank
and we had a couple of readers give their views on how they use
theirs.
I always say that it is better to try to have separate banks for
each system or at least each type of system.
I may use the same bank for
systems like the
Fancy
Fillies and The Lay
Investor. I class these both as investment systems so as long as you keep
good records, so you know if you are in profit or loss for each one, then there
is no reason why you can not use the same bank.
I use a totally separate
bank for trading because it is important I have all the funds I can get my
hands on and I like to have a sperate bank for testing.
I have been
testing a new Greyhound method over the last week. I call it a method because
it is really based on price rather than a particular selection. So far it has
worked well, but as with all these types of system it will probably "bite" me
back any day now, so thats why I needed a separate bank to test it.
The
beauty of using the GHB is that I can test these types of systems totally
automatically and set up my "Stop Loss" so I don't have to lose all my bank if
things go wrong.
It is worth having a strict stop loss in place and I
know from experience that this is where most people lose their banks. They
don't know when to stop and end up making one bet to many.
I have often
pointed out that if you are following a system that normally only has to losers
in a row then prepare for 3, but no more. If you hit the 3rd Stop, wait and
watch. Was this a temporary "Glitch" or has the system gone off?
Wait,
watch and analyse the results for a while.
This is where a lot of people
fail. They give up to early and normally because they have failed to plan for
what could happen, so when it does they are in shock and blame everything but
their own planning which I am sorry to say, is probably where things have gone
wrong.
I know this is going over old ground but it seems to be one of
those areas where people continue to fail.
