Todays ramblings
Good Morning.
I had an interesting day testing yesterday on the home
markets and overseas.
I set the Grey Horse bot to lay all (RSA)
Favourites between 1.00 and 4.00, 60 seconds before the off. Here are the
results.

As
you can see a nice little bit of profit over all the races at level
stakes.
That was the good test, now for a couple that didn't do so
well.
Laying the favourite in UK 3 place races. Now bare in mind these
are favourites between 1.0 and 5.00 and all they had to do was place.

As
you can see from the above screen shot most were trading well below 2.00, but
only 3 out of 11 managed to place. I know this is contrast to what happened
last week and it could well be just an unlucky day. Not what you would expect
though.
What I am going to do today, is to set the Grey Horse Bot up
to back between 2.00 and 3.00 on the 3 place market and have the "bet on
favourites" off. This will be similar to our Place System (3) but I am not
going to restrict the number of runners, as we do with that system.
I
thought we only had Australian and African racing yesterday but then the US
markets appeared which meant I could have a go on that market.
Not
good!
I layed every favourite between the odds of 1.00 to 4.00 from 5pm
to Midnight and lost hansomly!
I actually lost a little over half of my
£50.00 test bank so I need to analyze what went on. I didn't get a screen
shot I am afraid but it wasn't pretty.
I am not sure what to do hear but
I certainly need to do some more testing to see if we can improve the results,
there was one piece of good news, an that was a couple of times I was in
profit. So I suspect it will be a stop at a small amount of profit type
scenario.

8. Greyhound Selections- Lay System
started 07/11/2006.
After playing around with selections I have
decided that for the time being this is going to be a lay only test. I think I
have worked out a system that will give us quite good prices but I suspect
there will have to be a maximum lay price set. I am just not sure what that
will be but I am testing between 2.00 and 7.00. I will make every effort to
record betfair lay prices as well. The ones marked with an asterisks (*)
are from the original and tighter system, I am not using these
now.
You can see all the results since the 14th (when I introduced
the latest selection method)
here. I am now using what I call the "rule of 3", this means
we go for 3 wins and use a 3 race scratch back to get back any
losses.
