Todays ramblings
Good Morning.
I had a lazy one
myself.
There are 3 meetings today 1 Jumps from
Leicester and
2 AW's from Lingfield and
Southwell.
The last couple of
weeks we have been trying to find value in betting on the exchange place
market. If you want to pick up this thread and read what we have discussed so
far, then please go to the email archives
here, and start at the
30/10/2006.
On Friday we had.
12.30 Newcastle,
European Dream, EP 1. 24 (3 places) 1st 5/6 13.00 Newcastle, Rasharrow, EP
1. 68 (Win only) 5th 4/5 15.05 Cheltenham, Royal Auclair, EP 1. 46 (3
places) 5th 13/8 16.10 Cheltenham, Standin Obligation, EP 1.34 (2 places)
1st 4/6 16.20 Wolverhampton, Yungaburra, EP 1.39 (Win only) 1st
4/11 17.20 Wolverhampton, Emirates First, EP 1.2 (3 places) 1st
8/13
At level stakes we would have been -0.83 down. Using a staking
plan on 15.05 we would have had to back 2.18pts (1/.46) to get back the 1pt we
lost on the 13.00. we would then had to back (1 +2.18 / .34) 9.35 pts to get
back what we lost on the 13.00 and 15.05 on the 16.10 (9.35 / .34) 27.5 pts.
There are other ways of staking as well, a favourite used by
David
Turner is to "increase your stake by your original stake every time you
lose and then keep it at that stake until you get back your
winnings".
On first reading this statement many people immediately shout
"Martingale system" but it isn't, the important part is "Your original stake".
This system actually works quite well with low priced selections
especially if you have a lot of winners, as we seem to be with this system.
Here are today's. 13.00 Southwell, Off The Record EP 1.17 (3
places) 13.30 Southwell, Sweet Pickle EP 1.42 (3
places)
----------------
The last couple of day's of last week
were terrible for lay bets and I am wondering if we are just getting hurt by
the cross over in season. I do remember this hapening at the beginning of the
flat season and it is something I have been warning about for the last couple
of months.
The best lay of the day has had two losers in a row (Thursday
and Friday) which I am happy to report is quite a rare occurrence. http://www.laybetting.com/go_tip-exchange.htm
Fingers
crossed for today. ---------------- Friday I put in a maiden lay
selection that we actually lost on. This selection was from the
LaytoProfit system last week that I picked up to write a
review. It wasn't a totally fair, the test as I picked one possible
selection from several but what I thought I may do, is adapt the system
slightly and here is what I have come up with today.
14.50 Lingfield,
Lordswood 15.20 Lingfield, Perfect Story
By the way the
LaytoProfit system is well written and covers all of the
fundamentals of lay betting (great for newcomers), but I am not totally
convinced on the system, it is using a selection method that is practical but I
feel it could be improved upon, hence these
selections.
-------------- A couple of weeks ago I was trying out a
new win system which we had a break from last week. It has now been updated
slightly so I thought we could take another look. Just for fun I am going to
call it Millionaire's Row!
15.10 Leicester, Prairie Minstrel/Lambrini
Mist I still haven't worked out a staking plan for this yet but 50/50 will
probably be ok.

8. Greyhound Selections- Lay System
started 07/11/2006. After playing around with selections I have
decided that for the time being this is going to be a lay only test. I think I
have worked out a system that will give us quite good prices but I suspect
there will have to be a maximum lay price set, I m just not sure what that will
be. I will make every effort to record betfair lay prices as
well.
Friday's Walthamstow BAGS, 12.12, Green Jeanie, Trap 6 2nd 3/1
(I got 4.00) Hall Green BAGS, 13.51, Dundee Dave, Trap 3 5th 3/1 (I got
4.50)
Today's Sheffield BAGS, 12.12, Shaneboy Venus, Trap
5 Swindon BAGS, 13.04, Robins Bounty, Trap 2 Monmore BAGS, 15.48, Swift
Messenger, Trap 4 Don't forget this only a test, although I am now
