Todays ramblings
Good Morning.
I think it is back to decorating for me this
weekend.
I haven't mentioned
Ultratrader for a few days only because we are still working
on it and adding features. There is still a couple of weeks to go before we
launch, so if you still want to try it out then sign up
here.
We have spoke before about how difficult it can
be to find scenario's that work and I have tried to give you some hints on
this.
We introduced HiLO into the Ultratrader on the last release and I
have been playing around with some ideas. I came up with one, that with 5.00
bets, made £7.90(after commission) over night. There were not many bets
and they were all green trades.
Before you scoff at this small amount of
profit have a little think...
Ultratrader is totally automated and can
run day after day, so just say I made 7.90 a day for 300 days (includes
downtime of betfair). I make that £2370.00!
Speed is not the issue
here, it is consistency and I know it can be hard work testing but keep an open
mind.
Here are some more things to try.
* If you want to trade
then only make the first bet on the 2nd or 3rd round so you have got further
rounds to trade out on.
* At first keep your odds in a very narrow range
and then experiment with increasing that range and see how it effects the
betting.
* If you find you are getting bet every round they you will
probably find that it won't be profitable. We have always found that less is
best on x-games.
*Make notes of everything you have tried and the
results, it suprising that looking over past ideas can lead you in new
directions.

System started 07/11/2006.
After playing around with selections I
have decided that for the time being this is going to be a lay only test. I
think I have worked out a system that will give us quite good prices but I
suspect there will have to be a maximum lay price set. I am just not sure what
that will be but I am testing between 2.00 and 7.00. I will make every effort
to record betfair lay prices as well. The ones marked with an asterisks
(*) are from the original and tighter system, I am not using these
now.
Udate. I am now stopping at the first winner and changing my
stop loss to £16.00 although I think this may be to high and we should
also stop at the first loser and call it a day. Only time will tell.
