13th March
2008 Todays ramblings Good Morning.
I mentioned yesterday we have found a possible link in
the losers we had with the new lay system we have been trying. http://www.laybetting.com/2008-lay-test.htm
Looking
over the other months it is the same story as January where we lose about 20
bets, so we have decided to include the new filter and delete all those races.
It would have a dent in our overall profit but we think eliminating as many
losers as possible is more important especially when we are laying at these
higher prices.
The thing to do now is continue testing and see what
happens.
David had his stop at a winner on Startcross yesterday and
because the odds were so low we managed to get back into profit with a win of
£12.00.
We have another colleague who has been following these
selections as well and he is doing the same as David (stopping at a winner) but
he has added some more filters like number of runners, price and type of race,
but he has been as successful as David, I am the one who has suffered with the
two losers so I am hoping that will change now with the new
filter.

--------------- From Darren at the
Betting
School.
Are you using the new Betfair features? It's been a while
now since Betfair introduced their Starting Price feature and the ability to
carry your bets over into play.
Most punters will have ignored these
features and carried on betting in the same way that they always did. At
Betting
School however we are on the case with a suite of methods for profiting
from these new features.
In this months issue Betfair Accredited
Trainer and Author Jonathon Burgess outlines his system for betting front
runners with the carry over bets to in play feature.
In a nutshell the
system involves identifying those horses that will run prominently and setting
up a bet before the off and then having a matching trade bet carried into play.
This results in many all green positions. To do this for yourself just
follow these steps.
1. Identify a likely front runner 2. Place a
back bet at the best price you can before the off 3. Place a lay bet at
achievable in play odds and select the carry bet in play feature
Of
course Jonathon goes into more detail with optimum prices and selection
criteria but these basic steps should be enough for you to make some quick
profits.

----------------- Yesterday I mentioned I
was looking at a new Greyhound Lay system I had come up with.
I didn't
get chance to run these on a bot yesterday to see what the prices were like on
betfair. So I will try again today.
I didn't like the look of the two
winners together, that's the first time I had seen that. Yesterday's

Guest Selection I have a couple of guest selections lined up for
you. The first is from "Wrightyoh"
"After reading and studying
numerous laying guides and ideas I have come up with a system using the racing
post forecast favourites. In a nutshell this is done by comparing the forecast
favourite with the other runners and trying to find at least two other runners
that have a good chance of beating the forecast favourite. I am not just
looking at negative factors for the favourite but comparing these factors
against the other runners. The races I select need to have 7 runners or more
for the sake of probability and are usually hcps. "
Wrightyoh is testing
two systems but there won't always be a selection on both
systems. Yesterday Sys 1. 16.15 Hunt, Rebel Melody EP 3.05 7th

Comments for today: Plenty of runners but hard to make a case for more
than a few. The still potentially well-treated WIZARD LOOKING landed some
decent bets on his recent reappearance but whether he will be so well suited by
this slower surface is open to doubt. Speagle is an obvious alternative but
Bethanys Boy is just at home here and can make amends for last months
unfortunate defeat.
