Todays ramblings
Good Morning Its Friday.
I don't think I will do much this weekend maybe just have a really good
rest, maybe not!
Carrying on from yesterday and looking at the categories you can choose
from on Adrian Massey’s database page.
Number of runs in last 90days.
This filter can throw up some strange results so you should certainly
keep an eye on how it is affecting your system.
Number of runs in the last 12 months.
This is the same as above, but if you get chance to scan through the
race cards daily and note any favourites that haven’t run for over
100 days (not so many this time of year) and make a note of how many
actually win. I know there are some horses that are just good naturally
and will win after a rest, but there isn’t many that I would bet my
hard earned cash on!
Course Distance and form.
Looking at the daily race cards and the list of runner you will often
see (c) , (d) or (cd), this tells you the horse has won at the course
or at the distance or both. I get mixed results with this one, but I
tend to ignore it more now than I used to.
Jockey compared to previous race
There are some parings that probably make a difference, it’s worth
playing around with this filter.
Trainer compared to previous race
As above, but you don’t find trainers changing horses that often…do you?
The last 4 options allow you to change the way your report shows.
Use estimated Betfair odds.
I am pretty sure this uses the standard SP plus 20% which seems to be
the norm when converting from one to the other. Using this feature takes
out the £50 each way column and adds the Betfair price column.
I must admit I don’t use it much. My goal here is to find a system that
may work, live testing will give me the prices.
Include List of selections.
This does exactly what it says and is useful if you want to check for
losing runs, and other possible patterns, but turn it off until you need
it otherwise you are just adding to the processing time.
Maximum number in selections list
Go for the max 2000
Include breakdown of results.
Oh yes we need this!
Ok from Monday / Tuesday we start trying out some ideas and looking at
the results.
