11th March
2008 Todays ramblings Good Morning.
It's the start of Cheltenham today which is the last big
meeting of the Jump/Chase season.
I actually don't like big meetings,
but I thought I would have a go at picking a few winners but this is just for
fun. I am not the greatest form reader in the world that is why I choose to use
systems, but here goes anyway....

Grrrr and double Grrr...lol
We
had another loser on the lay test system yesterday. Please note though David
has not lost because he is still stopping at the first winner and up at least
12 points since we started showing you these selections a couple of weeks ago
because he hasn't had a loser since we started but we have had 2
now.
Losers are useful though because they give us ideas and allow us to
analyse if we have missed anything and yesterdays has certainly given us "food
for thought" as there is a common element from all 3 losers we have had, but we
need to use that information to go back over our other results and see how it
effects them.
We only actually lost 17.67 because of what we had already
won, and after winning on the next selection we are only down £11.20, but
that is all last weeks work down the drain, but I am confident this will work
and I am surprised we had two losers so close together. http://www.laybetting.com/2008-lay-test.htm

--------------- I have been saying
that I think that the "Lay test system (or maybe back)" near the bottom of this
email should be come a back system and I think again I have proved this with
yesterdays result.
So I think I am going to change it now and show it as
a back system. It does need some more testing but I would rather show it as a
back system than a lay system now, although if you are aggressive enough I
suppose you could make a profit from laying, but I would prefer to develop it
as a backing system and see how a staking plan could make it more profitable,
especially as it is making a profit at level stakes.
We are coming up to
the end of the Jump season (Cheltenham marks the end) and will be heading into
a month of turmoil so it will be interesting to watch how it performs over the
next 1 or 2 months and if the flat season makes a difference.
Anyway I
am going to rename it to "Back Test System" and hope this isn't going to be is
downfall!
Just one more thing, when I first started testing this system
someone emailed me and said "a system can only be a lay system or back, it can
not be both!". Well I don't know about you but I think we showed that is not
actually true and a system you think works best one way can actually work the
other as well and although I think in this case it is a better back system, if
you are brave enough to use a staking plan and can handle 3 or 4 losers in a
row then this could also make a good lay system as well.
Guest
Selection I have a couple of guest selections lined up for you. The
first is from "Wrightyoh"
"After reading and studying numerous laying
guides and ideas I have come up with a system using the racing post forecast
favourites. In a nutshell this is done by comparing the forecast favourite with
the other runners and trying to find at least two other runners that have a
good chance of beating the forecast favourite. I am not just looking at
negative factors for the favourite but comparing these factors against the
other runners. The races I select need to have 7 runners or more for the sake
of probability and are usually hcps. "
Wrightyoh is testing two systems
but there won't on always be selections.
Sys 1. 16.55 Sedg, Chabrimal
Minster EP 2.34 Sys 2 No bet. Remember these are "Lay" selections.
