Todays ramblings
Good Morning.
I
hope you had a good weekend. My weekend went exactly to plan.
Lots of
rest and a few good long walks with the dogs.
We have been talking about
"creating your own betting system" which I think everyone should consider doing
even if it means taking someone elses and adapting it.
One of my
favourites ideas is taking someones back system and then seeing if it can be
turned into a lay system. You may remember a couple of months ago I was testing
something that I called "The Weird Lay System". This was actually based on the

You
may remember it wasn't a total success but then I was only playing around with
one or two ideas. If you have a look at the results from the system (a pdf is
available at the site) you will see that although it appears to be profitable
as a back system using SP, there are a lot of losers in between the winners and
I think it is the high priced winners that make this system
profitable.
So my thought was that if we could avoid the big losers then
we have a good a chance of making a profit from laying the losers!
Although my test wasn't a total success it was really just me playing
about with the maximum price. I think I also found away of cutting down on
selections which may have been the problem.
The beauty of using someone
else's system is that most of the "leg work" has been done and you have a good
number of results to anaylise to see if there is potential for either improving
or changing the system.
This may not always work but I bet you already
own a number of systems that you have given up on that if you revisited you may
be able to find away of improving them. I know it not the easiest thing to do
in the world but then making money never is!

The idea is really to select "one a day" to
lay bet (http://www.laybetting.com/) on betfair or
betdaq, which should be the shortest price. David has set a maximum price limit
of 12/1 or 13 on betfair. The main rule (and one we have started to use across
a number of our systems) is that you should not bet if the reduction factor for
the race is 10% or more.
