Yesterdays Results
Tavalu (Miracle System) came 3rd, Villa Sonata (lay of the day) came
1st.
Todays ramblings
Good Morning.
Not the best of days for selections yesterday not even the new lay tip
(lose and win) could get of to a good start.
I had an email yesterday asking me why I had chosen a "Lay of the Day"
nap that was selected by 9 tipsters. The writers presumed because the
horse had so many tipsters backing it then it was an automatic risk.
Wouldn't it my nice if it was that simple?
Ok yesterday I got it wrong and the "Villa Sonata" actually won the race
but I think anyone who as ever studied the Racing Post "selection"
table will agree that we could show 1000's of examples, where even
12 tipsters get it wrong.
The reason I bring it up though is because this morning while going
through the "Naps" (racingpost - racing- tipsters-naps) table you can
see that 7 different papers have "London Express" as their nap today
and 4 of these are in the top 6 of the table.
Interestingly though only 3 tipsters have tiped it in the "selection"
table which includes "Spotlight (nap)" and "Topspeed".
The forecast odds are 6/1 on betfair at the moment he is trading at
5.9 (5/1), so is he worth a chance?
Well all I will say is that I have learned never to put my trust in
just those tables!
