Todays ramblings
Good Morning.
Bright and early this morning.
Well I
managed to get away with xmas shopping up to now, but I don't think I have much
of a chance of carrying on with that winning run over this
weekend.
Carrying on from
yesterday
Yesterday our first 3 wins came in early so
today we have a chance to increase our staking again. Yesterday's stake was
2.06 so today is.
2.06 x 3% = 2.12
Stop Loss is 2.12 x 30 =
63.60
Stop Profit 2.12 x 3 = 6.36
Slowly but surely.
This is
actually how a staking plan should work because it does 2 things, it first
covers your risk, secondly it increases your stake and thirdly it put's some of
your winnings away.
We increased our stake by 3% yesterday and we won
6.18. Today we have increase our stake by another 18p, increased our risk by
another 1.80 which allows us to put 4.20 back into our main bank from
yesterdays winnings.

These calculation could be adjusted in lots of different ways but
as I have said all along we are just testing and I hope you realise
that.
By increasing our stakes everyday it is going to take us longer to
build up another cushion as we did with the first 10 days because we are using
more of our daily profit against our next days stakes and stop loss, which is
why many people just make one change in their stake monthly. Because we are
increasing our stake daily it could take 15 to 20 days to catch up.
But
doing it this way, if we have a losing day then we should at least still have
added to our base bank. Our worst nightmare is to have more than 1 losing day,
within the time it takes to build up another stop loss amount.
Hopefully
though it's not just about statistics it's the system as well. This will give
us the edge and allow us to continue to grow our bank.
When you see
results like we are seeing with the Greyhound System (8) you really do need to
use will power, to stop yourself from just continuing to run the staking plan
across all selections.
Doing this will really put your odds of catching
3 or even 4 losers up a great deal, but it does hurt when you see all that
potential profit going by everyday. This is called "Greed" and is covered in
the "The Deadly Sins of Gambling" so it is not advised, but for
testing purposes I could be tempted!
If we go 30 days with out a losing
day and the results show that this could be possible to do, then I may do it
purely as a test, even if it just shows how dangerous this can be.
In
Howard's original email to me he mentioned.
"I tried also using "double
after a loss up to doubling twice". This scheme wins you much less than the 3
race scratch back (only half as much or even less) as long as you are winning.
However, although it can dive quite badly in a losing streak, it does NOT break
the bank in the way the scratch back does."
On Monday we will discuss
this staking option and see how it could be used with the
selections.
Anyway we are off to the Doctors again this morning so I
better get on.

8. Greyhound Selections- Lay System
started 07/11/2006.
After playing around with selections I have
decided that for the time being this is going to be a lay only test. I think I
have worked out a system that will give us quite good prices but I suspect
there will have to be a maximum lay price set. I am just not sure what that
will be but I am testing between 2.00 and 7.00. I will make every effort to
record betfair lay prices as well. The ones marked with an asterisks (*) are
from the original and tighter system.
You can see all the results since the
14th (when I introduced the latest selection method)
here. I am now using what I call the "rule of 3", this means
we go for 3 wins and use a 3 race scratch back to get back any
losses.
