Todays ramblings
Good Morning.
People are always asking me if I keep records on the past results of
the Miracle System. The truth is I don't, maybe I should but I see
it as a work in progress so any change I make to system surely make
all past results obsolete?
If 6 months I was using the top rated Adrian Massey selection, but now
I am using the top RPR selection then in effect this is a completely
different selection method and the results would be different.
The Miracle System is a pet project but it has taught me one thing and
that is you have to constantly try different ideas to get the best
from a system.
I have seen this system have 5 or 6 winners in a row one week and then
12 losers using the exact same method, but I am starting to find ratings
and information I can trust, and that is more consistent.
When creating a system you need information that will give you
consistency otherwise changes will destroy the effectiveness of what
you are trying to achieve.
Take the "selection box" at the racingpost, I find it difficult to use
this information because even when 10 or more tipsters agree, more often
than not they get it wrong.
I have to say I also get concerned about spotlight, some of the comments
that come from this section are a little hazy, one of my favourites being
"Deserves to win", I am sure he did, but didn't!
I am not saying Spotlight is all bad, because it must be difficult to pick
a winner from every race, but I would rather them say, "haven't got a clue"
than trying to pick one out based on nothing, after all they have a big
influence on the betting public.
So if you are creating your own system, be careful with the information
you use, it could mean the difference between winning and a total
disaster!
Short priced favourits
Max 8 runner under 2/1, handicaps
Another selection lost yesterday when Hill Forts Henry refused to run
now making 8 to the lay and only 1 to back.
My concerns that he had not won after 17 starts(now 18) were well founded
but I must admit I expected a better run.
I have also had a request to show the just before the off lay
tips.
The rules are:
Lay bet only as close to the off as you can get. Only lay if
it's odds at the normal bookies is between 1/2 and 15/8.

racingPost's own Desktop betting shop.
